The striking finding: the most expensive province for healthcare is not İstanbul but Muğla. Thin markets have less inventory and a handful of aggressive bidders, so clicks can cost more, not less — the "smaller city means cheaper ads" assumption does not hold in healthcare.

Headline Finding: Small Market Does Not Mean Cheap

The most expensive province for healthcare advertising in Turkey is not İstanbul but Muğla (₺114.7), with İstanbul at ₺102.1. Aydın (₺57.8) sits above İzmir (₺55.4). Healthcare has the widest provincial spread of any industry at 5.4×, followed by real estate and restaurants at 4.4×; tourism spreads only 1.4×. Thin markets have less inventory and a handful of aggressive bidders, so clicks can cost more, not less. The assumption that local targeting is always cheaper does not hold in healthcare.

How This Data Was Collected

The source is Google Ads keyword planner data, pulled via DataForSEO. Values are 12-month averages; Google does not publish the current month.

Each industry uses a customer-facing keyword basket — what a clinic, hotel or estate agency actually bids on. The cell value is the median of that basket, not its most expensive keyword.

Google reports CPC in USD. TRY figures here are converted at 48.60 TRY/USD (2026-09-12). If you republish a TRY figure, restate the rate and the date.

Province level, not city: at city granularity Google returned no data for 4 of 5 healthcare keywords. Keywords that return no data are excluded from the averages rather than counted as zero — a zero would drag the average toward a price nobody pays.

How to Use This Index

The index answers three questions directly:

  • Budget planning: derive a realistic monthly media budget from your own industry’s median CPC in the province you are targeting.
  • Market selection: if you serve several provinces, weigh click cost against demand volume to decide where to concentrate spend.
  • Evaluating a proposal: if an agency’s CPC estimate departs sharply from this table, ask them to justify it.

The Google Ads budget calculator reads this same dataset — pick an industry and province to see a monthly budget. Run your own scenario.
